JOHN GREGG McMASTER
John Gregg McMaster, Jr. is a native of Florence, South Carolina and is a partner with the firm. His distinguished legal career spans for nearly 70 years. He was admitted to the South Carolina bar in 1938 and joined the firm in 1948.
Mr. McMaster received a B.S. degree from the University of South Carolina in 1936 and his LL.B. in 1938, also from USC. He was a member of the South Carolina House of Representatives from 1947-48. He was Code Commissioner for South Carolina in 1953 and served as the chairman of the South Carolina Aeronautics Commission from 1956-67. He is a member of the Richland County Bar Association, South Carolina Bar, American Bar Association, National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel, South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys Association and the Defense Research Institute, Inc.
Mr. McMaster has compiled an extensive list of awards during his career. This list is highlighted by the Order of the Palmetto in 1991 and the 2004 Worthy Adversary Award given by the South Carolina Trial Lawyers Association. He is currently the oldest practicing attorney in South Carolina.
