Tompkins and McMaster was initially founded on June 6, 1898 by Frank G. Tompkins, Sr. Mr. Tompkins was later joined by his son, Frank G. Tompkins, Jr., and Elizabeth Eldridge. The first McMaster joined the firm in 1948 when John Gregg McMaster, Jr. came on board. The firm has roots with both of the states major colleges. The senior Mr. Tompkins was a member of Clemson University’s first football team in 1896. All three of the firm’s current partners received multiple degrees from the University of South Carolina.
